What is the Bible?
The Bible is a book of the Christian Scriptures that consists of the Old and New Testament. The Bible contains a total of 66 books - 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. The stories in the Bible are about God and his action's in the world.
The Bible was written by over 40 people, from farmers to fishermen, shepherds, priests and kings. It was written over a period of about 1,500 years, from around 1450 B.C. (from the time of Moses) to about 100 A.D. (after the death and resurrection of Jesus).

How to look up a Bible Passage.
Step 1: How to find a book (Example: Genesis, Matthew, Psalms etc): Look at the table of contents at the front of your bible.
Step 2: After finding the book number, start looking at the top corners of your Bible for chapter 5. The top corners would say something along the lines of ‘Matthew 5, Mat 5, etc’ next to eachother.
Step 3: Once you found the chapter, look through the pages to find ‘5’ in bigger text than the small words.
Step 4. Once you have found the number 3, start looking through the smaller letters and numbers until you find the number 2.

What does 'Testament' Mean?
"Testament" comes from the Latin word which means "covenant" or "agreement". The Old Testament is the "Old Covenant" or the "Old" Agreement.” The New Testament is the “New Covenant” or the “New Agreement."
