Jesus was chosen by God to be our Saviour.
He saved us by dying on the Cross for us, in addition to that, Jesus saves us from our sins. He sets the perfect example for us, and His teachings are the base for happiness in our lives and eternal life in the world to come.

Mary MacKillopAugust 8 is the Feast Day of St Mary MacKillop. St Mary MacKillop is a very important figure for Australians. She is an example of the Australian that we should all aim to become. One lesson she taught us is that if we forgive, we will be forgiven.
One example of how compassionate Mary was, was when Mary MacKillop was teaching in Portland. One day the inspector arrived at the school. The headmaster Mr Cusack rearranged all the classes. He took the students from Mary’s and Anne’s classes who were well taught and gave his poorly performing students to them. Mary’s father heard of this injustice and went to see Mr Cusack. The outcome of this encounter was that they both lost their teaching positions. Years later when Mary was in Sydney she met a dirty, alcoholic tramp whom she recognized as her former headmaster, Mr Cusack. She sold her watch so that she could provide him with clothes and care. |
